Firearms Transfer Policy
One thing to consider before purchasing online and transferring to us, is to check with us and see if we can order it for you. We might be able to give you a better price. Also, it will eliminate the shipping costs if any, and any transfer fees. | |
1. | The purchaser/transferee of the transferred firearm is responsible for ensuring that they are legally allowed to receive the firearm. Rifles/Shotguns/Long Guns - Must be 18 years of age or older. Pistols/Receivers/Lowers/AOWs - Must be 21 years of age or older. |
2. | Standard firearm transfers are $65.00 PER firearm. This amount is due before the background check is performed. This is a standard fee for processing the firearm and maintaining records and is non-refundable. |
3. | After placing your order online, most websites will give you a tracking number, this is for you to keep informed of it's transit. The firearm will not be ready for pickup until we process it at our store. We will then contact you when it is ready for pickup. |
4. | Inability to legally receive the firearm due to any reason will incur a $20.00 Reprocessing Fee as well as any incured costs to return the item to the original sender. |
5. | Any item or firearm received as a transfer that remains in the store for more than 30 days without Reprocessing, Return to sender or otherwise legally disposed of will be considered abandoned and will become the property of Dong's Guns. |

Type 3 Curios and Relics | |
Dong's Sporting Goods is licensed as a Type 1 Federal Firearms Dealer, as such we do not deal in or transfer firearms as Type 3 C&R. Type 3 Curio and Relic License issued under 18 USC Chapter 44: A. It is not a license to carry, use, or possess a firearm B. Confers no right or privilege to conduct an activity contrary to State or other law. C. Will entitle you to acquire firearms, classified as curio or relics, in interstate or foreign commerce. You may dispose of curios and relics to any person, not otherwise prohibited by the Gun Control Act of 1968, residing within your State, and to any other Federal firearms licensee in any state. It must be emphasized that the collector’s license being applied for pertains exclusively to firearms classified as curios and relics, and its purpose is to facilitate a personal collection. You may NOT engage in the business of buying and selling any type of firearm with a Type 3 license. Applicants intending to engage in the firearms business should apply for a license other than a Type 3, Collector of Curios and Relics, license. |
